Our prestigious Investment Bank client has recently engaged us on an exclusive basis to assist in securing a Director-level Operational Risk professional.

Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Measuring, monitoring and reporting on Operational risk for different functions in Operations by analyzing key risk indicators and other metrics.
Understanding the portfolio of risks across asset classes and across the Front to Back Trade Life cycle.
Identification and delivery of risk mitigation solutions to internal clients and partners for Operations areas.
Work in partnerships with Operations Line and be comfortable with adapting an approach to facilitate communication at all levels of staff.
Act as key representative of Operations Risk and Analysis Team.
Demonstrate a continual improvement to the control environment and instigate behavioral change.
Produce weekly, bimonthly, monthly, and yearly reports on operational processing risk.
Support and analyze the Sarbanes Oxley certification process for Operations.
Project management work involving the advancement of the current global model and analytical approach to keep pace with regulatory changes

This role offers excellent exposure to Senior Management as well as the opportunity to create value-added Risk Reporting metrics that will impact the Bank as a whole.

Requirements

10+ years of Operations experience with several in Operational Risk or Audit
Bachelors degree or International equivalent (MBA preferred)
Strong Internal Client facing experience

Business Analyst – CT

Our client, a global and reputable firm, primarily involved in various trading operations, has recently engaged our services to secure two Business Analysts. These roles will essentially work in conjunction with various functions including Operations, Trading, IT and Finance, to identify, develop and implement both national and global solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:

Collaborate with various business unit personnel such as Traders, Portfolio Managers and Controllers to understand their particular business needs and translate them into functional requirements.

Determine significant tasks and requirements for project definition and establish feasibility.

Create and manage project plans inclusive of all necessary user manuals and training seminars.

Work closely with developers to develop technical requirements and functional business specifications.

Using business analysis standards such as UML Flow Charts, Swimlane diagrams, Entity Relationship Diagrams and others as needed, document future processes and system functionality.

Develop test cases and perform full functional regression and performance testing, define roll-out strategies and deploys solutions.

Requirements:

2-3 years of Business Analysis experience. (Financial or Trading systems exposure is a plus).

Experience analyzing, implementing and supporting enterprise reporting architectures and related technologies.

Experience in participating in cross functional project teams.

Ability to perform in various roles from Individual contributor to Leader.

Ability to plan, organize and manage project teams using a structured delivery methodology.

Demonstrated exposure to the capabilities, features and limitations of system development tools.

Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science preferred.

Senior Middle Office Analyst – Fairfield County, CT

Our client manages a fund with effective AUM of approx $ 1 billion and anticipates launching other commodity funds in the near term

Position Overview:

This role is a Middle-Office position within a hedge fund that specializes in soft commodities and will play an integral part in the whole organization. You will be responsible for calculating the NAV (Net Asset Value) on a daily basis and reconciling the trades in our systems, comparing the broker’s statements with what is showing in our internal position management system. VBA knowledge would be very helpful as processes move from a manual to automated structure.

The Middle-Office function in this fund has two main components: NAV calculation and RISK calculation however this role will concentrate mainly on the NAV calculation. Given our client’s growth expectations, this job will offer the ability to expand your knowledge as different funds are opened. The reconciliation process will provide daily interaction with the traders as well as other Senior personnel. This role requires a real self-starter who can learn quickly and work autonomously.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

Reconciling trades on a daily basis
Calculate the NAV daily.
Reconcile our NAV with the administrator NAV monthly
Reconcile FX movements across the books.
Identifying all major risks associated with the company’s ongoing operations and conduct of its business and evaluating the potential risks being undertaken as a result of business growth and development.
Check with traders that the reported positions are accurate and that the NAV makes sense.
Have a thorough knowledge of our systems (from Front-Office to Back-Office).
Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our systems
Ensure inputs to the risk system (both positions and prices) are accurate and timely
Improve the internal reporting procedures.
Provide assistance with ongoing development of the current databases
Analyze the reported figures and contribute to the enforcement of Stop Loss Limits
Monitor portfolio intra day / provide real time updates to Portfolio managers as Greek’s change / risks within portfolio change
Ad-hoc analysis

Knowledge of physical soft commodity markets, in addition to futures, options and OTC derivatives
Exposure to VaR useful, in addition to MtM / PnL
